Mr. Herner has practiced primarily as a sole practitioner dating back to 1991. From 1989-90 he was partner, head of the corporate group and then Of Counsel to Cummings & Lockwood in Stamford. He was one of three founders of the firm Anderson Russell Kill & Olick, P.C. in New York (1969-1988), which grew from the original 3 attorneys to over 150 by the time he left, and earlier had been an attorney at Chadbourne Parke Whiteside & Wolf, also in New York. He is rated AV in the Martindale-Hubbell directory.
Mr. Herner has served in the outside general counsel capacity for several middle market
companies, two of which grew through a series of acquisitions, and one of which went
public and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He considers himself a corporate
generalist with broad experience in many corporate law issues with particular emphasis on
corporate finance, contract real estate and environmental matters.
